Home Shielding Promotion Ellsworth Building Supply (EBS) in Town Hill on MDI While Supplies last homeowners who visit the Town Hill EBS can help take back the night for FREE
Shielding of nearly all home lighting is voluntary on Mount Desert Island. Each of MDI’s three lighting ordinances grandfathered any existing lights and exempts all new lights producing less than 1800 lumens - equal to a 100 watt incandescent light bulb. Picture a birthday cake outdoors with 1800 candles on it, much of its light shines into the sky. Throughout Maine home lighting is a major source of light pollution, and its easy to fix |
